A little over a month had passed. Occasionally, there'd be word from inside Arcadia. Occasionally, there'd be more deliveries of food. But the uneasy peace was doomed from the start, and at least some people knew that.

Eventually the message comes. Something has been found. Something that Copy X wants to speak to them in person about, but he can't leave the city at the time. He thinks Weil is suspicious and would take advantage of any absence. But he can give them access codes to an area of Arcadia away from the human residential sections, where they can meet...

Copy shakes his head. "I'm not even sure what it is. There are parts being constructed in the utility levels beneath Arcadia. Harpuia... she said some of them looked like parts for a very large laser weapon."

"Parts of a laser weapon is a whole lot better news than a whole laser weapon," comments Zero.

"Why aren't you doing anything?" this from a frantic Copy X to Digit, who is lounged in a beanbag chair nearly upside down.

"I am," she replies, looking past him as if daydreaming. "Wireless net access, something that got dropped from ever ever again being used in 'bots after me because of reasons. Not all of which were these reasons. And, what kind of paranoid puts a firewall there, excuse me... Hello, yes, Mr. Server, I would like to login as root... wait, am I still talking out loud?"

"And the longer it takes it to become a whole laser weapon, the better." He's not sure if he should suggest to get the people out of there so they couldn't feed the thing or let them stay. Would the laser be finished even sooner if they made a move to get the people out?

He rolls his eyes at Digit.

He wouldn't have to suggest it. Finding some way to keep the people safe is the primary thought on Copy X's mind.

"Ok... got it," Digit says. "Go ahead, kiddo."

Copy wastes no time in heading for the communication station the twins indicate, and starts making a public announcement through the communication system of Arcadia while they're hacked in. Most of it involves denouncing Weil as a fraud and a traitor, and that he'd been the one to try to kill them. Copy's walking a very fine line at this point, as he doesn't want to cause a panic among the people, but he does want them to know not to trust Weil.

Lumine just stays quiet, calculating what this might mean. He has sense not to get between a Lightbot and protecting squishies, even if Copy is only partly Lightbot.

Forte's not getting in the way either. Copy X can do things his way; Forte will continue getting ready for what's to come.

-Do you think this will speed up construction? There's no doubt we're on the third game now, and if we already know about the laser, then he's not going to throw out all those other disasters. We still have time, but it can't be much.-

-Maybe. I don't know- Zero admits. -If people start leaving to find Copy instead of stay with Weil, that could be some of the fourth game, even if we haven't taken out the Judges yet. Our best chance might be to try to get into Arcadia and sabotage the weapon before he can finish it... But maybe we should look into that armor first.-

Copy X is less than happy when his pirated communication channel goes out. He's a worried little mess, and doesn't know what to do next... X just pulls him into a hug.
